FINANCE FRIDAY ⁣ ⁣ After my poll last week I discovered that

FINANCE FRIDAY ⁣ ⁣ After my poll last week I discovered that there is a HUGE desire for me to share more about Personal Finance, which makes me SO excited because it's something that I LOVE! ⁣ ⁣ Working towards your financial goals should be EXCITING! Not scary! ⁣ ⁣ A little background for those of you who don't know me personally! I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in May of 2017 with my Bachelor's in Finance with an emphasis of Financial Management. ⁣ ⁣ During college and after I graduated I worked at a bank for 5 years and now I'm a claims adjuster for an insurance company and an online health & fitness coach! ⁣ ⁣ A LOT of what I'll be sharing with you on these Finance Fridays will come from my experience in the banking & insurance world, as well as personal research I've done. Some of it tying back to my degree, some of it not ⁣ ⁣ I'm here to SHARE MY EXPERIENCE and help anyone that I can! ⁣ ⁣ With that being said, I'll jump right in! ⁣ ⁣ After talking to a couple of you, and taking requests, there was a large majority that wanted to start but didn't know how or where to even start ⁣ ⁣ My objective is to keep things simple while also being effective! This is the way that I budget that I've found to be most simple and effective for ME! Granted, I'm just one person, so if you're budgeting for a household with a spouse you might need a little more detail in your budget sheet, but this is how I do it!⁣ ⁣ BUDGET BY PAYCHECK METHOD:⁣ ⁣ I go through ALL my bills/expenses and write down each day of the MONTH each bill is due. Then I write my pay period date range at the top of my budget sheet for the weeks I'm budgeting for.⁣ ⁣ Example: I get paid today so my date range for that paycheck budget is 2/28/20 - 3/12/20. ⁣ ⁣ THEN I refer back to my MONTHLY list of when each bill is due and if the date falls within my budget range, the bill will then get a line item in my budget for todays paycheck! ⁣ ⁣ As for expenses that aren't bills with an actual due date (groceries, gas, savings, miscellaneous etc.) I put those under other expenses and budget how much I'm going to spend on those things.⁣ ⁣ Continued in comments ⁣
