February in Review 1. Budget is done. The real work now comes in monitoring spending and pulling back when it doesn't align with our plans and goals. I'm a little tired of the 'where did the money go?' feeling that I've experienced for the last 18 or so months. 2. 10K steps every day, even when I really wasn't feeling it. 3. So the 'planning' part of this goal really didn't happen but we probably did more together on weekends than ever before. 4. I made pumpkin, fetta and spinach fritters with dill yoghurt and they were delicious although I always struggle to get my fritters to really come together. Maybe you really need a decent amount of oil? Then yesterday I threw together an easy salt and vinegar cucumber salad which I find delicious and will definitely make again. 5. The before-breakfast routine is pretty simple but at least I've been following it: make bed, get dressed, empty dishwasher, either start a load of laundry or put away the dry laundry from the previous day. 6. I made the half hour after naptime dedicated Stella time but I'm now starting to feel like the goal should be encouraging more independent play. She gets a lot of attention and love and I don't want her to be the kind of kid that needs constant entertaining. She used to play so well and over the past 6 months she's become more and more clingy. Other wins: This month Andrew started doing one or two work from home days a week and it's been such a breath of fresh air. Normally he is gone long before Stella is awake and often gets home just to kiss her goodnight or else doesn't see her at all. With him here we're able to have lunch together, give him hugs goodbye as we head out to activities and Stella has chances to grab little chats with him throughout the day. The Stella Update: Language seems to have taken another leap forward, with much more grammatically complete sentences and ability to have a back and forth conversation. Tantrums have decreased This month I obsessed over: rewatching BuzzFeed 100 baby challenge, the new Magnum salted caramel tub.
